Frequently asked questions
If you are experiencing persistent distress, relationship difficulties, life transitions, or simply a sense that something feels off — therapy can help. You do not need to be in crisis to benefit. Many people come to therapy for growth, clarity, and self-understanding.
Therapists (like Jessica, LMFT) provide talk therapy — exploring thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and relationships. Psychiatrists are medical doctors who primarily manage medication. Many clients benefit from both. We are happy to coordinate with your prescribing provider.
Yes — with limited exceptions required by law. We are mandated reporters for child abuse and neglect, and we are required to act if there is imminent risk of harm to yourself or others. Outside of those situations, everything shared in session is strictly confidential.
There is no single answer. Some clients find meaningful relief in 8–12 sessions; others benefit from longer-term work. We will regularly review your progress together and you are always in control of when to pause or end.
Yes. We offer secure, HIPAA-compliant video sessions for clients located in Kentucky. Telehealth is a full and effective alternative to in-person therapy for most concerns.
That is exactly what the free consultation is for. We will listen to what brings you in and help you understand which service — individual, couples, family, or another — best fits your situation.
Yes. Jessica has specialized training in child and adolescent therapy. We work with children as young as 5 and involve caregivers as collaborative partners in the process.
We ask for at least 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations and no-shows may be subject to a fee. We understand life happens — please just communicate with us.
